Special Funding Request

On Monday, July 3, one of our Huntington Beach lifeguards, Elizabeth Lovat, sustained a spinal injury while performing her duties. She was transported to a local area hospital where she remains in stable but serious condition. Our priority at this time is to provide support for Elizabeth and her family while she recovers.

A donation page has been setup for those who wish to donate to the Lizzie Fund.

Out of respect for the family’s privacy, no other information will be provided at this time.

Stop the Bleed Training

On May 15, 2023 the HBFD - in partnership with the HBFOF and local hospitals - provided Stop the Bleed training to the faculty and staff at Edison High.

The kits were purchased by  HBFOF with donations from people like you  and a special grant from Memorial Care.

In attendance was the creator of the 'Trauma for Teachers' program Sophie Cendro and her parents!  Check out the video to hear Sophie describe how the program got started!
